1930s Silk Crepe Striped Evening Dress
Stunning 1930s evening dress. Soft lightweight silk crepe fabric with a fine woven grid within the fabric. Ruffled stitched horizontal stripes running down the dress. Puffed shoulders. Lovely three layered collar design. Full front fastening with press studs and decorative buttons running along the front and two hook and eyes at the waist. Full length skirt with a longer tail.
The fabric has some stretch, but the measurements laid flat are:
Shoulder seam to seam: 12”
Armpit to armpit across the bust: 16” with some stretch up to 17”
Across the waist: 12.5” with some stretch up to about 13.5”
Length down the back 54”
Length down the front 47”
Condition:
The dress is a little delicate, as the fabric is so fine. There are a couple of small repairs, a couple of darns a a few pin holes visible when held up to the light. There are a few faint marks or faded spots.
