1940s French Patched Chore Dress
Really nice example of a French work dress, circa 1940s. Constructed from two different fabrics, a white and purple floral print and a black and white printed faded cotton, both of which have been reused from other garments. Press stud half fasten front, loose cut body.
Measurements:
Shoulder seam to seam: 15”
Across the bust underarm to underarm: 20.5”
Across at the waist: 19.5”
Length rear collar to hem centre: 41.5”
Condition: Made using remains of other garments during the 1940s, so has signs of old seams/ pleats and wear and fading. some marks and repairs, darns and other signs of age and use.
