Antique Indigo Linen Biaude Circa 1900
Late 19th/ early 20th century indigo linen biaude smock. A nice example of a piece of French historical clothing. Beautiful design and fabric, natural indigo dyed fine linen, decorative chain and hook closure at the neck. Two large chest pockets, heavily gathered cuffs, shoulder and front under the collar. Mother of pearl buttons and finely pleated placket.
Oversized, varied fit garment but the measurements are:
23” shoulder seam to seam, 21’ shoulder seam to cuff, 38” all the way across the chest and 38” length.
Condition:
Some fading throughout, a few neat repairs, a couple of marks and a couple of tiny holes.
